sand box on wheels

Like any toddler, Lucy loves playing in the dirt and sand and recently my dad built a fun little sand box on wheels for her. It can be stored in the garage (or anywhere) and pulled around to different locations. The design is really simple- it's just a planter box on casters with a rope attached for pulling.

I love this idea, so fun and cute! What a great job your dad did on it!!

My 2nd oldest daughter loved her sandbox so much, she would spend hours in it and finally at 12 years old I had to get rid of it. She was sad and missed it but soon was ok about it. Her favorite thing to do was to make me pretend food, we would play restaurant and she would take it so serious and add bits of grass or leaves to decorate the food with.
Our sandbox was handmade too, a huge one that you could sit in and had plenty of room for at least 8 people in it.
Enjoy this time, it is so precious. Oh and I like that this way at least way Lucy won't get sand in her diaper and shoes and everywhere else since she is standing and not sitting in it, lol. LOVE THAT PART!!

Love this idea, especially for renter's like us! My daughter is only 5 months old but I take inspiration from all that you do with yours. <3 this blog!

Love the sandbox! What a great idea to make it moveable! My kids practically lived in their sandbox! Someone on my street commented that my kids never seemed bored when they were outside( their kids were) I told them the secret was sand, water and blowing bubbles, I let the kids imaginations take it from there! :)

I love this! Our sandbox kills the grass underneath. The kids gradually empty it (carrying sand here or there). Once it's empty, we move it, but I love the idea of being able to move if while full. Speaking of how the kids slowly drain the box- I got tired of sweeping all the sand that got tracked into the house. We replaced the sand with corn, and the kids love it! It cost the same, maybe even a little less (it was costing about $15 in sand each refill the corn cost $11 ). The corn doesn't stick to the kids and therefore doesn't get sprinkled across the house. All the extra corn the kids spread across the yard get eaten by the squirrels, turkeys, and deer.

This is a great idea. What a genius way to keep it away from the neighbor cats who like to use it as a litter box. Dads rock!
